The quality of the friction disk depends on two major factors: one is the material, the second is the processing accuracy.
In terms of material, 95% alumina ceramic (full ceramic) was selected as the friction disk because of its hexagonal crystal structure, the accumulation of particles of this structure, the natural formation of a microscopic bumpy. As a result, the frictional effect on the chemical fibers running on its surface accomplishes the task of generating torque on the filament. As the thickness of the filament varies, the size of the ceramic grains used as friction discs must not be uniform, and it is most important to match.
With the gradual increase in the demand for fabric style and fiber quality, it was discovered that the angularity present in ceramic crystals sometimes had side effects on the filament, so soft ceramics with an elliptical crystal structure that does not strain the filament emerged. Soft ceramics are actually a composite ceramic with alumina as the main component.
As far as processing accuracy is concerned, since the friction discs work at high rotational speeds and the filaments are very thin, they must be absolutely uniform and smooth, and have a coefficient of friction that matches the filaments. As you can see, the accuracy of the friction disc is closely related to the speed of equipment operation.
